Chapelboro’s Memorial Day 2026 feature paired Chatham County’s Helping Homebound Heroes program with Skyline Exterior Group’s 100 Roof Pledge. It reported that founder Brian Rice, an Air Force veteran, started the Pittsboro company in late 2025 and that Skyline covered the entire cost of the first donated roof, for Army veteran Grady Bendel.

FOX8: Roofing company donates new roof to Greensboro military veteran, “This is me paying it forward”
FOX8 WGHP reported that Skyline Exterior Group donated a new roof to Grady Bendel, a Greensboro Army veteran and single father of two who lost his leg in Afghanistan, after Veterans Bridge Home connected them. Founder Brian Rice said the roof was him paying forward the help he received with his own VA claim.

Roofing Contractor: Skyline Donates Roof to Injured Army Veteran
Roofing Contractor magazine reported that Skyline Exterior Group of Pittsboro, NC donated the labor for a free roof installation for U.S. Army veteran Grady Bendel, with materials supplied by GAF through its Community Matters initiative and the connection made by Veterans Bridge Home. It was the first roof under Skyline’s pledge to donate one roof for every 100 sold.
