Seamless gutters vs. sectional gutters
- Sectional
- Ten-foot pieces joined with connectors every few feet. Every joint is a future leak, and the runs sag as the fasteners loosen.
- Seamless
- One continuous run per roofline, formed on site from a coil to the exact length. Joints only at the corners and downspouts, so far fewer places to leak.
- Why it matters here
- Chatham County storms drop a lot of water fast. Seams that weep in a drizzle pour in a downpour, and the overflow lands right at the foundation.

- Gutter size
- Sized to the roof area and pitch feeding each run. Steep roofs and long runs shed water faster and need the larger 6-inch K-style profile in place of the 5-inch.
- Downspouts
- Enough downspouts, in the right places, matter as much as the gutter itself. We add outlets and drops where long runs overflow and extend each downspout to a splash block so water discharges away from the foundation.
- Pitch and hangers
- Runs are pitched toward the downspouts so water does not pool at the low point and overflow or freeze, and hung on hangers screwed through the back of the gutter into the fascia.
- Fascia and drip edge
- Gutters only hold if the fascia behind them is sound, with the drip edge above lapping into the gutter. Rotted fascia is replaced before the new run goes up, and it is a common find under a roofline that has overflowed for years.
- Guards
- GuardFlow gutter guards sit across the top of the run and are fitted to the gutter profile so the system rejects debris without slowing the flow. They can be added to a new run or to gutters we did not install.
