Every Skyline roof replacement is a full tear-off. We strip the old shingles to the deck, repair any damaged wood, dry it in, and install GAF Timberline HDZ shingles with LayerLock technology, the most installed shingle in North America. Most replacements are done in 1 to 2 days, and the crew that quotes the job is the crew that installs it.
You see everything we do. The job is documented with CompanyCam photos from tear-off to the final magnetic sweep, and because we are a GAF Certified Plus roofing contractor, the manufacturer warranty is registered in your name before we call the job done. What Is Included
What a full tear-off roof replacement includes
Every replacement follows the same scope, whether the home is in Pittsboro or 25 miles out.
Tear-off to the deck
Old shingles, underlayment, and flashing come off completely. Nothing is layered over, so problems in the deck are found instead of buried.
Deck repair and dry-in
Damaged decking is repaired before new underlayment goes down, so the roof is watertight before the first shingle is nailed.
GAF Timberline HDZ shingles
LayerLock technology bonds the shingle layers for stronger wind performance and nailing accuracy. Other colors and lines are available on request.
Flashing, boots, and ridge
New flashing at chimneys and walls, new pipe boots, and the ridge sealed from underlayment to peak, so the weak points are new as well.

Signs you need a roof replacement
Our rule of thumb on every inspection: a roof under 15 years old with localized damage gets a repair, not a replacement pitch. Over 18 years old, or with problems in more than one area, replacement is usually the better spend. If the damage is limited to one spot, a repair is the cheaper fix and we will say so.

- Underlayment
- New underlayment and membrane across the whole deck, sealed from the eave to the ridge. The old layers never stay under the new roof.
- Flashing and boots
- New flashing at chimneys, walls, and skylights, plus new pipe boots. We do not reuse old flashing on a new roof.
