National Roofing Week, held June 7 to 13, 2026, recognizes the role roofers play in protecting homes and businesses, and the industry’s community work.
On June 11, Roofing Contractor magazine’s senior strategic content editor Tanja Kern published a roundup of contractors, distributors, and manufacturers who went beyond the jobsite that year to help veterans and homeowners in need. Skyline Exterior Group was in it.
What the magazine reported
The roundup opened with the photo of Army veteran Grady Bendel and Skyline’s Brian Rice at Bendel’s North Carolina home, where Skyline and GAF provided the donated roof.
Skyline appeared alongside efforts from across the country: Tennessee contractors who replaced a roof for a veteran left stranded by another company, and Owens Corning’s Roof Deployment Project, one of the industry’s largest veteran roof programs.
Why it matters
A national roundup two months after the original report means the donation registered with the industry beyond a single news cycle. It also put a Pittsboro company with one donated roof alongside national manufacturer programs.
